Minority Access' Educational Talent Search Program

Target Schools

Minority Access targets participants for participation in its ETS program from the following Prince George's County Public Schools.

Middle Schools
Charles Carroll MS
Greenbelt MS
Hyattsville MS
Nicolas Orem MS
William Wirt MS

High Schools
Bladensburg HS
Northwestern HS
Parkdale HS

Participant Recruitment

Students (or parent/guardian of students) attending one of the aforementioned schools may initiate the application process by contacting Minority Access' ETS Program office at 301.779.7100 or by completing the program application, needs assessment, and release form and submitting it to our office by mail or fax.

Highest priority for program participation is given to students meeting each of the following criteria:

  • US citizen or permanent resident of the United States
  • Neither parent has completed a four-year college degree
  • Family taxable income is within federal requirements
  • 6th thru 12th grade student at a target school

Individual Educational Plan

Each participant is required to complete a needs assessment prior to receiving program services. An individual educational plan promoting Individual growth through Precollege exposure, Academic support, Social interaction, and $-Financial aid/literacy information (I-PAS$) is developed for all program participants. The I-PAS$ is used as a roadmap in providing services to accomplish participants' academic goals in springboarding them to postsecondary enrollment. Activities include:

  • FREE tutoring and test preparation utilizing computer software and instruction
  • FREE academic advising and counseling, career exploration, financial aid advice, and college admissions help
  • FREE college/university campus and job-site visits
  • FREE workshops for students and parents
  • FREE access to SAT/ACT and college application fee waivers to eligible participants.
